Delivery of second S-400 batch to Türkiye needs official approval
The delivery of the second batch of Russian S-400 air defence systems to Türkiye is likely to be delayed amid Ankara's objection to the clause banning the sale of the complex to third countries.
According to the Turkish Aydinlik newspaper, this item is common in the world practice of military-technical cooperation.
“Türkiye bought the first batch of S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems from Russia, but the second stage, from which it will receive real privileges, has not yet begun," writes the newspaper. "However, the contract signed in 2017 was designed not for one batch, but for two.”
Russia and Türkiye signed in 2017 the first contract for the S-400 regiment kit in the amount of $2.5 billion.
Approximate terms of deliveries to Ankara are yet to be disclosed.
