Putin and Trump are scheduled to meet in Alaska on August 15. The main topic of the talks is peace in Ukraine. Proposed ideas may include territorial exchanges and Ukraine’s renunciation of NATO membership. Against this backdrop, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the country’s constitution excludes any territorial concessions.
On August 8, US President Donald Trump announced his anticipation of a forthcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, scheduled to take place in Alaska on August 15. This arrangement was subsequently confirmed by Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov, who indicated that the discussions would center on exploring avenues to secure a long-term peaceful resolution to the ongoing Ukrainian crisis. Ushakov further emphasized that the Kremlin expects the subsequent summit between the two leaders to be hosted on Russian soil, underscoring the intent to maintain a sustained diplomatic dialogue.
