Russia declares Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights “undesirable organization”
The Russian Ministry of Justice has officially designated the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, a prominent Poland-based NGO, as an "undesirable organization," effectively banning its operations within the Russian Federation.
The foundation was added to the register of foreign and international organizations whose activities are deemed undesirable on Russian territory, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian Ministry of Justice.
The listing entry reads: “Helsińska Fundacja Praw Człowieka (Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights), Poland.”
Founded in Poland, the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights is widely recognized for its work in defending the rule of law, promoting democratic standards, and monitoring the protection of human rights and civil liberties both domestically and internationally.
