Denmark allocates €750 million in military aid to Ukraine

17 May 2024 13:56

Denmark has decided to provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth €750 million. It includes air defence and artillery supply, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the Danish Ministry of Defense.

Today, the government informed the Foreign Policy Council about a new package of donations to Ukraine worth 5.6 billion kroner (€750 million).

DKK 2.4 billion (EUR 321 million) of this amount is reserved for air defence. Part of the funds will also go to the free transfer of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said that as part of the package, the government also allocated additional funds for direct investment in the Ukrainian defence industry.

Besides, Ukraine will receive shells and anti-tank mines. This is already the 18th aid package. Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen says that the situation in Ukraine is very serious.

"There is no doubt that Ukrainians need constant and massive support from their allies. With this package, we are sending a clear message to both Ukraine and the outside world. We are making both donations now and are ready to invest in Ukraine's defence industry on a large scale and over the long term. Their fight for freedom remains our fight," the minister added.
