Denmark, Ukraine explore joint drone manufacturing to fortify defence
The Danish government is exploring the possibility of establishing production facilities for Ukrainian drone manufacturer Skyfall on Danish soil, Danish Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen announced.
“This initiative continues Denmark’s consistent support for Ukraine and strengthens cooperation not only at the government level but also within the defense industry,” Poulsen said, Caliber.Az reports, citing Ukrainian media.
“We are now starting negotiations with the Ukrainian company Skyfall on setting up production in Denmark. Bringing strong Ukrainian defense companies to Denmark in cooperation with Danish industry will strengthen the security of both Denmark and Ukraine,” he added.
Poulsen highlighted the Ukrainian defense industry’s proven ability to support national security, drive innovation, and develop advanced products. Per Hjølm Olsen, director of the Danish Ministry of Defense’s Agency for Material Supply and Procurement, emphasized Skyfall’s strategic value:
“Skyfall is a company with an impressive product portfolio that can provide strategically important production and supply on Danish soil — both for Ukraine and Denmark,” Olsen said.
The initiative follows Denmark’s broader support for Ukraine, including a €33 million investment to modernize a Ukrainian Armed Forces training center. The funding will improve living and sanitary conditions, as well as provide equipment and drones for military training. The Come Back Alive Foundation serves as the implementation partner for the project.
