Deputy FM: Armenia ready to open border with Türkiye
Armenia has declared its readiness to open the border with Türkiye and develop bilateral relations, while stressing that the final decision rests with Ankara.
Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan said Yerevan was prepared both politically and technically to take the next steps, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.
“All necessary infrastructure has been put in place. The decision is up to Türkiye,” he emphasised.
Kostanyan noted that the normalisation process between the two countries has significantly progressed and is no longer limited to contacts between foreign ministries.
According to him, dialogue is now taking place at the level of national leaders as well as between various government departments, indicating a shift toward broader engagement.
He also added that following the settlement of relations with Azerbaijan, Armenia is focusing on expanding economic cooperation and trade in the region.
