Devastating blaze in Russia's Kirov region claims seven lives, one still missing VIDEO

A devastating fire tore through a single-story wooden apartment building in the village of Kilmez, Kirov Region, Russia, claiming seven lives.

According to the Russian Emergencies Ministry press service, rescuers discovered four additional bodies at the scene, as authorities scramble to locate one person still unaccounted for, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media. 

The blaze erupted on January 5 in a building on Sadovy Lane, which served as social housing for elderly residents. Governor Alexander Sokolov revealed that 11 people lived in the residence, mostly retirees. While three managed to escape the inferno, the remaining residents were trapped inside.

Emergency services are working tirelessly to sift through the rubble, with the cause of the fire under urgent investigation. This heart-wrenching tragedy highlights the vulnerability of social housing infrastructure and the need for enhanced safety measures.
