Diaspora reps from 16 countries visit Karabakh to honour martyrs on Remembrance Day PHOTO
On September 27, as part of the project " We are in Shusha with the power of an iron fist ", organised with the support of the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora, representatives of the diaspora visited Khankendi and Shusha cities of Azerbaijan.
Fifty representatives from sixteen countries participated in the trip, organised for the 13th time, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The visitors first arrived in the city of Khankendi, where they gathered in front of the administrative building to observe a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the Day of Remembrance.
Expressing their gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, the Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and the Azerbaijani army for the liberation of their homeland, the compatriots paid tribute to the fallen martyrs and wished good health to the veterans.
The representatives then proceeded to the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, Shusha, where they visited the Jidir Duzu plain, the Mausoleum of Molla Panah Vagif, the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, the Ganja Fortress Gates and other landmarks. The participants unfurled the Azerbaijani flag at Jidir Duzu and chanted: "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!".
It is noteworthy that the committee frequently arranges visits to Shusha and other liberated territories for compatriots, foreign journalists, and scholars, who play a crucial role in informing the international community.
