Diaspora restores House of Azerbaijan in Ukraine PHOTO
The House of Azerbaijan, closed for several months, has resumed its activities in Kyiv. This decision was made at separate meetings of the boards of the Council of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine and the United Diaspora of Azerbaijanis of Ukraine (UDAU).
It was noted that the costs of maintaining and renting the office, including all debts of the House of Azerbaijan, will be paid by the UDAU. Also, with the participation of the board of the UDAU and the heads of regional organizations, the flags of Azerbaijan and Ukraine, which were removed from the building a few days ago, were returned to their original venue.
Members of the board – academicians, businessmen and Azerbaijanis, who are actively involved in the social and political life of Ukraine - expressed disagreement with the closure of the office, which the diaspora has been using for 10 years.
It was noted that the closure of the House of Azerbaijan, which plays a special role in the development of Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations and conveying the truth about Azerbaijan to the Ukrainian public, is absolutely unacceptable.
According to members of the diaspora, it is unacceptable that such a situation arises at a time when threats against our country are increasing after successful anti-terrorist operations in Karabakh.
