Diesel tank explosion in Armenia leaves one injured

A diesel fuel tank exploded during welding work in the village of Norakert, Armavir Province, Armenia, causing a fire, authorities have reported.

According to the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the incident occurred at 14:53 local time on December 12, involving a 40-ton diesel tank, Caliber.Az reports.

Two fire and rescue units from the provincial emergency services were dispatched to the scene. One person sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The fire was brought under control by 15:07 and fully extinguished by 15:12. Authorities reported damage to three tanks, 15 metres of electrical cable, and other electrical equipment.
