Drone attack causes fire at Russia's Volgograd oil refinery
Air defence means intercepted and destroyed four Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod region, two - over the Volgograd region and one - over the Rostov region, the Russian Defence Ministry said.
According to Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov, the downed UAV fell on an oil refinery and there was a fire.
The head of the region said that the attack was repelled in the Kalachevsky district and the Zakanalye area.
According to him, the fire occurred at the Volgograd refinery, which is the former name of LUKOIL-Volgogradneftepererabotka.
The website of LUKOIL's subsidiary says it is the largest producer of petroleum products in the Southern Federal District, with a capacity of 14.8 million tonnes.
The open burning has now been extinguished, there are no casualties. The Emergencies Ministry reported that the fire area reached 300 square metres.
