Drone attack sparks fire at industrial facility in Russia’s Volgograd PHOTO
A fire broke out at an industrial facility in Russia’s Volgograd region following a drone attack overnight, regional authorities said on June 13, adding that no casualties were reported.
Volgograd Region Governor Andrei Bocharov said Russian air defence forces had repelled an attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles targeting the region.
“Overnight, the air defence forces of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation repelled an attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles on the territory of the Volgograd region,” Bocharov said in a post on Telegram.

According to the governor, the fire occurred at an industrial site in the Kotovsky district after debris from a downed drone fell on the facility. Firefighters are continuing efforts to extinguish the blaze.
Bocharov also reported a separate incident in the Kumylzhensky district, where a drone crash sparked a fire on the outskirts of the Shakinskaya Oak Grove forest. The fire was quickly brought under control, and no injuries were reported.
Independent Russian outlet ASTRA TV reported that an oil transfer station in the settlement of Yefimovka, in the Volgograd region, was among the targets of the attack. The report could not be independently verified.
