Seven people, including three children, have been killed after a drone crashed onto a beach in the village of Arkhipo-Osipovka near the Russian resort town of Gelendzhik, according to authorities.

The operational headquarters of Russia's Krasnodar region said the death toll had risen to seven following the incident.

Authorities said 40 people sustained injuries. Twenty-one of the injured were taken to hospital, while Russia's Health Ministry said nine people, including three children, were in a serious condition. Another 19 people received outpatient medical treatment

A drone crashed onto a beach crowded with holidaymakers in the Russian Black Sea resort of Gelendzhik on Monday (August 3), killing four people, including a child, regional authorities said.

The operational headquarters of Russia's Krasnodar region said 10 other people were injured, including two children.

According to the authorities, two adults and one child were taken to hospital for treatment, while the remaining casualties received medical assistance at the scene and did not require hospitalisation.
