Drone hits residential building in Tatarstan, three injured
A Ukrainian drone struck a residential building in Russia’s Tatarstan region on Friday morning, injuring three people and forcing evacuations, regional head Rustam Minnikhanov said.
The attack targeted the Zakamye area and was part of what officials described as a broader UAV strike.
“This morning, a massive attack by Ukrainian UAVs was carried out on the Zakamye region of the Republic. On my instructions, the republic’s prime minister has gone to the scene,” Minnikhanov said.
He added that affected enterprises continued operating while addressing damage.
“Enterprises affected by the attack are promptly dealing with the consequences. Production processes have not been halted. All necessary services are on site,” he said.
“One of the UAVs hit a residential building. Residents have been evacuated. At present, a temporary accommodation point is being prepared at a nearby camp. The three injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance,” he said.
“On my instructions, the district leadership is carrying out the necessary work to eliminate the consequences and organise conditions for the evacuated residents,” Minnikhanov added.
