Drone, missile barrage hits Ukrainian cities overnight, leaving fires, casualties PHOTO
Several Ukrainian cities, including Dnipro and Mykolaiv, were targeted overnight on September 20 by coordinated drone, ballistic missile, and cruise missile attacks, resulting in significant damage to residential, industrial, and agricultural infrastructure, as well as casualties.
In Dnipro, continuous shelling throughout the night left residents on edge, with a missile striking a residential building by morning. The city experienced multiple explosions as drones repeatedly attempted attacks, causing power and water outages alongside heavy smoke, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Regional authorities confirmed fires broke out across the city and surrounding areas, damaging high-rise buildings, private homes, farm structures, garages, and industrial facilities.
Early reports indicate one person was killed and 13 others injured, with most in moderate condition and one critically wounded.
The Dnipropetrovsk region’s city of Pavlohrad was also hit by drone and ballistic missile strikes, destroying a factory and sparking fires.
Mykolaiv faced a combined assault by ballistic missiles and drones targeting industrial infrastructure, which ignited fires. Officials reported no immediate information on casualties. In the Bashtansky district, drone strikes damaged warehouses at a farm in the Snigirevskaya community, causing fires and damage to nearby houses and vehicles.
In the Kyiv region, drone and missile attacks affected Bucha, Boryspil, and Obukhiv districts. Damage included approximately ten garages in Boryspil, a residential building fire in Obukhiv, and car fires in Bucha caused by debris from a downed target, all of which were extinguished.
Ukraine’s air defence systems detected cruise missiles entering the country’s airspace in the early hours.
