Drone strike hits Russia’s Syzran, residential building partially collapses PHOTO / VIDEO
Residents of Syzran in Russia’s Samara region have reported drones flying over residential areas, with one local resident capturing the incident on video showing UAVs and the sound of air defence systems in operation.
According to the agency ASTRA, an OSINT analysis confirmed the authenticity of the footage. The video was filmed from 50 Years of October Avenue, and a building located at 50 Zvezdnaya Street is visible in the frame. The site is approximately three kilometres from a local oil refinery.
Later, the governor of the Samara region stated that a section of a residential apartment building partially collapsed as a result of the drone attack.
“As a result of a drone attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Syzran, an entrance of a residential apartment building partially collapsed. Search and rescue teams are working at the scene. Four people, including one child, have been rescued from the rubble. Emergency response services have been dispatched to the site,” the statement said.
According to the same OSINT analysis by ASTRA, the damaged four-story building is located at 8 Astrakhanskaya Street.
