Drone strike on Russia’s Sochi kills one resident

A resident of Sochi was killed following a drone strike on Russia’s Krasnodar region, local governor Veniamin Kondratyev confirmed on September 9.

According to officials, debris from the downed UAV struck a car, killing the driver. Preliminary reports indicate that six private houses sustained damage, including facades, roofs, windows and fences. Emergency and special services are currently working at the site.

Earlier, amid the threat of drone attacks, Sochi airport introduced temporary restrictions on flights, suspending both departures and arrivals.
