Drone strike sparks fire at Russian petrochemical plant in Stavropol region VIDEO
A petrochemical facility in the Russian city of Budyonnovsk, in the Stavropol region, was hit by strike drones on the night of November 12, triggering a large fire at the site, according to local reports.
Eyewitnesses said the attack targeted the Stavrolen plant, part of the Lukoil group, marking the second reported strike on the facility. Stavrolen is one of Russia’s largest petrochemical plants and ranks second nationwide in low-pressure polyethylene production, Caliber.Az informs via Ukrainian media.
Images and videos published by the Telegram channel Exilenova+ appeared to show flames and smoke rising from the complex. Residents in Budyonnovsk reported hearing explosions during the night, and authorities issued an alert in response to the threat of further drone activity.
Stavropol Governor Vladimir Vladimirov confirmed a fire in the local industrial zone, saying that firefighters and emergency services are working on site.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, and Russian authorities have not provided details about the extent of the damage.
