EAEU-UAE free trade deal set to take effect on October 6
The free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will officially enter into force on October 6, 2026, following the completion of all ratification procedures, a senior Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) official announced.
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the 8th Kyrgyz-Russian Economic Forum, Andrey Slepnev, the EEC's Minister in Charge of Trade, said the final legal steps had been completed after the two sides exchanged diplomatic notes, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
"Today, we exchanged diplomatic notes with the Emirati side. We have completed all procedures related to the ratification and entry into force of the free trade agreement with the United Arab Emirates. The date for its entry into force has been set for October 6, 2026," Slepnev noted.
