On the night of February 6, an earthquake of magnitude 7.8 occurred in southern Türkiye, followed by more than 30 new tremors. Another earthquake of magnitude 7.7 was recorded in the afternoon.

Hundreds of buildings collapsed in Turkish and Syrian cities, killing more than 1,400 people. This is the largest earthquake in the region since 1939, Kommersant reports.
