Earthquake recorded in Kazakhstan’s Almaty
An earthquake was recorded in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on the morning of September 28, according to the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The ministry said its network of seismic stations had detected the earthquake and that details of the event were still being verified, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
“An earthquake has been recorded in Kazakhstan. Details are being verified. The Ministry of Emergency Situations’ network of seismic stations recorded the earthquake. According to preliminary information, the seismic event was recorded in Almaty,” the ministry said in a statement.
The intensity of the tremors is also being assessed, according to the statement.
Meanwhile, residents of Almaty reported feeling the tremors on Monday morning, with some people leaving buildings and gathering in the streets.
