Earthquake shakes Russia's Sakhalin

A 4.1-magnitude earthquake occurred in Russia’s Sakhalin region, with residents of Severo-Kurilsk reportedly feeling tremors of up to 3–4 on the local intensity scale, the Russian Academy of Sciences’ United Geophysical Service (FGC RAS) branch told TASS.
The epicentre was located 79 kilometres southeast of Severo-Kurilsk at a depth of 45 kilometres.
Earlier on December 28 at 06:08 local time, a 3.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Southern Kuril Islands at a depth of 66 kilometres. The closest settlement to the epicentre was Kurilsk, located approximately 104 kilometres east of the quake’s centre.
