Electricity disrupted in Serpukhov, Moscow as substation catches fire PHOTO/VIDEO
In the early hours of January 17, a fire broke out at a power substation in Serpukhov, Moscow Oblast, leaving parts of the city without electricity. An OSINT analysis conducted by ASTRA identified the affected facility as the 220 kV “Oka” Substation No. 400.
The assessment was based on eyewitness video footage, including a recording captured from Pionerskaya Street, approximately 150 metres from the site of the fire.
ASTRA’s analysis further noted that a branch of the Peter the Great Military Academy of Strategic Missile Forces, on Brigadnaya Street in Serpukhov, is situated roughly 3.5 kilometres from the substation.
Local residents and media reports confirm power outages across parts of Serpukhov, including the Krasny Tekstilshchik neighborhood and the Bolshevik settlement. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have yet to issue official statements or updates regarding the incident.
