Envoy: Azerbaijan has no plans to start new war against Armenia
Vilayat Guliyev, Azerbaijani ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina, has said that Azerbaijan has no plans to start a new war against Armenia.
Statements that Azerbaijan is allegedly planning to start a new war against Armenia are aimed at forming an image of an "aggressive state" about our country, the diplomat said in an interview with Report.
“We should not forget that we live in an unfair world where double standards prevail”, the ambassador noted.
The envoy also recalled the words of former French President Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, who openly stated that "the European Union is a Christian club."
"That is why countries like France consider human tragedies not from the point of view of law and humanism, but from the point of view of religious affiliation," Guliyev said.
The ambassador said that the Armenian press almost every day publishes statements by various foreign "experts" who make strange "predictions" that Azerbaijan will allegedly soon start a war with Armenia over the Zangezur corridor.
"We have liberated our lands, agreed to build a road to Nakhchivan through Iran, considering all this, why should we attack Armenia, whose territorial integrity we have officially recognized? Guided by what logic will we start a new war in the region? Of course, our country will never go for it. However, for those who want to give Azerbaijan the image of an 'aggressive country' by any means, such ridiculous lies are not difficult," Guliyev said.
