Envoy: India to continue defence cooperation with Armenia
India's Ambassador to Armenia Nilakshi Saha Sinha has said that her country would continue cooperation with Armenia in the sphere of defence.
"When we cooperate with a country in the defence area, it means not only technical cooperation but also capacity building. Thus, we will continue this cooperation," the ambassador told journalists, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
She described the “Crossroads of Peace” initiated by Armenia as a good project. The ambassador, however, expressed hope that it would bring peace to the region.
"Cooperation plays a key role on the issue of boosting economic development and prosperity. And India supports all initiatives to increase interaction. We believe that if ties between neighbors are strengthened and they are successful, it will lead to easier lives for people and consequently economic development and well-being. So, the “Crossroads of Peace” project can only be welcomed. There is no alternative to world peace. Therefore, we should all talk to each other and bring people together through such regional cooperation projects," the ambassador concluded.
