Envoy: Iran, Armenia not to allow creation of corridor

Iran and Armenia will not allow the creation of any corridor.

According to Sputnik Armenia, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Badashkhan Zohouri said this at a conference on bilateral relations.

According to him, Iran and Armenia have been and will be neighbors.

“Of course, you can notice some tricks, they talk about some so-called corridors, about some actions. However, Iran and Armenia will not allow the creation of such a corridor,” he said.

The Iranian diplomat also believes that the two countries need to take the initiative, figure out what new actions and steps to take.

“We should not wait for someone to come up with the idea of creating, for example, a corridor, and then decide what position to take. We must not allow this,” Zohouri said.

He called the opening of the Iranian consulate in Kapan, as well as the forthcoming opening of the Armenian consulate in Tabriz, the right decision.
