Envoy: Türkiye considers sending troops to Ukraine, joining Black Sea demining
Ukraine’s ambassador to Türkiye, Nariman Dzhelyal, has claimed that the country is considering the possibility of deploying a military contingent to Ukraine as part of security guarantees for Kyiv,
Dzhelyal stated that Türkiye is “one of the 10 countries that are already potentially ready to send troops to Ukraine as part of providing security guarantees," Caliber.Az writes, citing Ukrainian media.
He added that he discussed Türkiye’s participation in the broader framework of security guarantees for Ukraine with the country’s Minister of National Defense, Yasar Güler.
“I just yesterday met with Türkiye’s Minister of Defense Yasar Güler. <...> Türkiye is ready to join in the near future the demining of the Black Sea,” Dzhelyalov said.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted that Türkiye had expressed readiness to participate in Ukraine's security guarantees, including assuming responsibility for maritime security.
