Erdoğan condemns armed incident at Washington dinner attended by Trump

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has condemned the attempted armed attack that took place during the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington, held overnight and attended by US President Donald Trump.

In a post on the social media platform X, Erdoğan expressed relief that no one, including Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, was harmed.

“We are relieved that no one, including President Donald Trump and his wife Melania Trump, was injured. In democratic societies, the struggle is conducted through ideas, and violence of any kind has no place,” the statement said.
