Erdoğan condemns foiled terror attack near Israeli consulate in Istanbul
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has strongly condemned an attempted terrorist attack near the Israeli consulate in Istanbul’s Beşiktaş district, which occurred earlier today, TRT Haber reports.
Speaking at the inauguration of ROKETSAN’s production facilities, Erdoğan praised the swift response of Turkish security forces that prevented a larger tragedy.
“We condemn the treacherous attack that took place today in Beşiktaş, Istanbul, which was successfully prevented thanks to the heroic actions of our security forces,” he said.
During the attack, three assailants were neutralized—one was killed and two were injured. Two police officers sustained minor injuries while intervening. Erdoğan added that the Istanbul Prosecutor’s Office, along with police and intelligence units, immediately launched investigations into the incident.
“We will resolutely continue the fight against all forms of terrorism and will not allow vile, premeditated provocations like today’s to undermine the sense of security in Türkiye,” Erdoğan stated.
