Erdogan confirms Türkiye has Tayfun ballistic missile
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has confirmed that the country has a new Tayfun ballistic missile, secret tests of which were conducted on October 18.
He made the statement, speaking at Istanbul University at an event on the topic of blockchain technologies, TRT Haber reports.
"Now we have Tayfun, and this is our message," the Turkish president stressed.
According to him, one of the technologically capacious and important sectors of the economy is the defence industry.
"The defence industry is both a locomotive and the most used area of technology. Türkiye has increased from 62 defence industry projects to more than 750 projects and from a budget of $5.5 billion to $75 billion. We see the most concrete reflection of this development in our exports. We have increased exports of defence industry products, which amount to $ 250 million a year, to more than $3 billion. The number of technology companies worth more than $1 billion has reached six," he stated.
