Erdogan: Europe needs Türkiye more than Türkiye needs Europe
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that despite ongoing conflicts and regional tensions, Türkiye remains the strongest and most stable country in the region.
Speaking after a cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdogan’s remarks were reported by the Anadolu Agency following the conclusion of the session.
Addressing relations with the European Union, he said that strategic uncertainty toward Ankara continues to persist within many EU institutions.
“It must already be understood that the EU, in which Türkiye is not a full member, will not be able to become a global player and a centre of attraction,” Erdogan emphasised.
He added that the European Union should recognise Türkiye’s constructive role and avoid steps that could undermine it.
“Today, Europe needs Türkiye more than Türkiye needs Europe. Tomorrow this need will become even greater,” the president said.
