“We held the 12th Summit of the Turkic Council in Azerbaijan, in Gabala — an outstanding city that preserves the traces of our deep history. I hope that the Gabala Declaration we signed will benefit all friendly and fraternal countries, particularly the Turkic world. We are adding new achievements to the successes the organisation has attained over the past 16 years, following the motto ‘Unity in language, thought, and work,’” Erdoğan wrote.
The Turkish president also highlighted initiatives in transport, energy security, and trade integration as part of this approach.
“It is in our interest to focus on projects and investments that will activate and strengthen energy and communication links among us. We must make the Trans-Caspian Middle Corridor even more effective,” Erdoğan added.
He further noted that Türkiye is closely monitoring developments in the South Caucasus and sincerely supports efforts to establish peace and stability in the region.
“We regard the joint declaration signed between Azerbaijan and Armenia on August 8 as a positive step in this direction, and we hope it will continue,” the Turkish president said.
