Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan arrived in Budapest to participate in an informal summit of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), travelling aboard a special TUR airliner.

At Esenboğa International Airport in Ankara, President Erdoğan was accompanied by key officials, including Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Secretary General of the Presidential Administration Hakkı Susmaz, and Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin, Caliber.Az reports, citing Turkish media.

Joining the president on the trip were his wife, Emine Erdoğan, Fahrettin Altun, head of the Public Relations Office at the Presidential Administration, and Akif Çağatay Kılıç, chief foreign policy and security adviser.

The Budapest summit, held under the motto “Meeting Point of East and West,” serves as a vital platform to enhance cooperation among member states of the Organisation of Turkic States. During the Council of Heads of State meeting, Erdoğan is expected to engage in bilateral talks with leaders from other Turkic-speaking countries, focusing on political cooperation, security issues, economic collaboration, and cultural exchange.

The Organisation of Turkic States unites Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Hungary participates as an observer, highlighting the summit’s significance as a symbol of the Turkic world’s growing geographic and political influence.
