Erdoğan meets Kyrgyz FM, underscores rising cooperation between allies PHOTO
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev during an official visit, with both sides highlighting the strong momentum in bilateral cooperation and stressing the importance of regular high-level contacts, according to an official statement from Kyrgyzstan’s foreign ministry.
The Kyrgyz foreign minister conveyed greetings and best wishes from President Sadyr Japarov to the Turkish leader and expressed gratitude for the warm reception.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed mutual interest in further deepening cooperation across various fields.
Special attention was given to coordination within the United Nations, the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), and other international frameworks.
The Kyrgyz side thanked Türkiye for its support in Kyrgyzstan’s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2027–2028. Erdoğan congratulated Kyrgyzstan on the election and wished success in fulfilling its responsibilities.
Both sides also emphasised the importance of strengthening cooperation within the Turkic world and coordinating efforts on international security issues.
The talks concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to advancing a comprehensive strategic partnership and implementing previously agreed commitments.
