Erdogan: Netanyahu to go down in history as “Gaza executioner”
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will go down in history as the “executioner of Gaza”.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this in his speech to the country's parliament, Anadolu reports.
“Netanyahu, who committed one of the greatest atrocities of the last century in the Gaza Strip, has already written his name in history as the `executioner of Gaza’,” the Turkish leader said, in particular.
According to the president, statements by the Netanyahu administration reduce hopes that the humanitarian pause in the Gaza Strip will turn into a permanent ceasefire.
At the same time, he noted that against the backdrop of a humanitarian pause in the conflict between Israel and Hamas, Ankara intends to intensify its contacts to achieve the release of as many prisoners as possible and make the ceasefire permanent.
He also spoke about Türkiye's plans to further provide humanitarian assistance to the population of the Palestinian exclave. The president said that today the second Turkish ship with humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip will set off with 1,500 tons of cargo on board.
The Turkish president also touched upon the prospects for bilateral relations with neighboring Greece. In his opinion, the existence of disagreements between Ankara and Athens does not mean that the two countries that “share a common sea” cannot find a common language.
