Erdogan pledges Türkiye’s mediation to reduce Iran-US tensions
Türkiye is prepared to take on a mediating role to help resolve disagreements between Iran and the United States, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced, emphasizing that Ankara will continue its relevant diplomatic contacts.
“We confirm that we are ready to play the role of mediator between Iran and the US to reduce tensions and resolve issues, and we will continue our contacts in this regard,” Erdogan said in an interview with the Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat.
“On all platforms, we have expressed our rejection of any military actions against Iran,” he added.
Highlighting Türkiye’s diplomatic approach, Erdogan noted that the country coordinates closely with regional partners. “Our contacts continue with friendly countries, including Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. We do not approach this issue with a bloc or alliance mentality,” he explained.
