Erdoğan says Türkiye opposes complete destruction of Iran
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated that he does not approve of actions leading to the complete destruction of Iran, but also does not support Iran’s retaliatory stance toward countries in the region.
According to Haber Global, he made these remarks during a phone conversation with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
“President Erdoğan said that we [Türkiye] do not approve of actions aimed at the total destruction of Iran, and we consider Iran’s position toward brotherly countries in the region to be wrong. Everyone with a conscience should strive for peace and focus on diplomacy,” the Turkish leader’s office said.
Erdoğan also noted that “unless Israel’s disregard for the law in Gaza and elsewhere is stopped, the region will continue to be in need of peace.”
