Erdoğan stresses importance of Iran’s stability in call with Pezeshkian
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan reiterated his country’s commitment to Iran’s peace and stability during a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on January 22.
According to a statement from Türkiye's Presidential Communications Directorate, Erdoğan emphasised that Türkiye does not support foreign intervention in Iran and has closely followed the recent incidents unfolding in the country, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.
The two leaders also discussed the current state of bilateral relations between Türkiye and Iran, along with key regional issues. Erdoğan highlighted that Ankara views the stability of Iran as crucial for regional peace and prosperity, and underlined that foreign interference aimed at destabilising Iran is not in Türkiye's interest.
Both leaders expressed a shared commitment to resolving existing tensions in the region, stressing the importance of preventing any escalation. They reaffirmed their dedication to continuing cooperation on regional dynamics.
