Erdogan: Türkiye eradicated tradition of coups
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the era of coup plotters in Türkiye is over, emphasizing this during a speech at the National Centre of Congress and Culture Beştepe.
Caliber.Az reports via Russian media that Erdogan's statement follows an emergency meeting with intelligence and justice ministry heads amid concerns about a potential coup attempt. Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya vowed to identify and address structures working against the government and the people.
Erdogan underscored Türkiye's commitment to strengthening national sovereignty and highlighted previous actions taken against coup attempts, including dismissing and detaining police officers linked to criminal organizations.
"In our struggle to fortify national unity, we have eradicated the tradition of coups in our country. The plotters have faced justice in Turkish courts," Erdogan affirmed, pledging continued efforts to bring all traitors to justice.
