Erdoğan: Türkiye’s economy shows unstoppable growth with 5% annual surge

11 February 2025 14:30

Türkiye’s economy continues to show strong growth, despite regional conflicts and the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes that struck the southeast in February 2023.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said this while speaking at the Türkiye-Malaysia Business Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Caliber.Az reports via Turkish media.

He highlighted that Türkiye is among the few countries that have achieved an average annual economic growth rate of nearly 5 per cent over the past two decades.

Erdoğan further stated that Türkiye has invested nearly $300 billion in infrastructure development over the last 20 years, while the country’s exports have increased more than twentyfold.

Additionally, during this period, Türkiye has doubled its share of global exports. "Entrepreneurs who trust Türkiye and invest in the country's potential will, as before, not regret it in the future," the Turkish leader emphasized.

To recall, on February 10, the President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, arrived in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, for an official visit as part of a four-day tour of Southeast Asia aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

During his visit, Erdoğan addressed civil servants and students at a meeting titled “Strategic Partnership between Türkiye and Malaysia in the New Century".

Erdoğan's visit also includes engagements with the Malaysian business community to promote economic collaboration. Furthermore, regional and global issues, particularly the ongoing situation in Gaza, were addressed during the discussions.

Following Malaysia, the Turkish President is set to travel to Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, where he will co-chair a High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting with Indonesian officials. The trip will conclude in Islamabad with another such meeting in Pakistan.
