03 June 2026 14:42
An Estonian Air Force aircraft is conducting a patrol mission over the Gulf of Finland, including flights over neutral waters within the flight information region managed by Tallinn air traffic control, according to a source in European Union aviation services cited by TASS.
“The aircraft took off from the local Ämari military base, located near the coast, and then began patrolling the area over the Gulf of Finland controlled by Tallinn controllers, including over neutral waters,” the source said.
The aircraft involved is a PZL-Mielec M-28 Skytruck, a type used for a range of missions, including surveillance operations.
“At present, the aircraft is moving eastward at an altitude of about 1.5 km,” the source added.
