Estonia may get weapons putting St. Petersburg at gunpoint, says Russian envoy

Russian Ambassador to Estonia Vladimir Lipayev has said that Estonia may receive weapons from Western partners, which would be capable of putting Russia’s St. Petersburg city at gunpoint.

He made the remarks on the air of the Solovyov.Live programme on January 24.

According to him, the expected weapons may be the advanced types of conventional weapons.

"Estonia is actively arming itself, but it is not clear why. The advanced types of conventional weapons are planned to be delivered here that will be able to keep St. Petersburg in the crosshairs; a medium-range missile defence system is being created," the diplomat explained.
