Second day of Turkic States Forum on disinformation underway in Ankara PHOTO
The second day of the Turkic States Forum on Combating Disinformation is taking place in Ankara.
On December 19, the session is centred on a panel discussion titled “Turkic Media in Building a Shared Future,” Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Representatives from media outlets in Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan are participating in the discussions.
The forum will also feature a presentation on “Next-generation journalism practices and fact-checking reflexes in the search for reliable information.”
The two-day event, which started on December 18, is organised by Türkiye’s Communications Directorate and brings together high‑level officials, media representatives, academics, and communication experts from Turkic states to strengthen cooperation in countering disinformation and enhancing information security.
It aims to create an effective communication platform among participating countries, facilitate experience exchange, and support joint projects addressing modern challenges in the media and information sphere.
Disinformation is highlighted as a national security concern for member states, and the forum serves as a strategic space for developing coordinated approaches, boosting media literacy, and fostering resilience against information threats.
The event reflects ongoing efforts under the Organization of Turkic States’ (OTS) Action Plan for Information 2025 to promote collaboration in the responsible use of digital technologies, international broadcasting, and next‑generation journalism across the Turkic world.
