EU allocates funds to Yerevan for combatting corruption

30 November 2023 13:51

The European Union will allocate 11 million euros to the country for justice sector reforms, the project was approved at a meeting of the Armenian government.

The agreement between Armenia and the European Commission envisages financial support from the EU in the amount of 9 million euros. Another 2 million euros will be allocated as additional assistance, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.

“The key goal of the agreement is to promote the justice and anti-corruption sphere in Armenia and bring it in line with international standards. In particular, it is about the criminal justice system, including gender issues. Also, the allocated funds will be used for the establishment of an independent arbitration center," the media noted.
