EU commissioner says visa-free travel with Armenia possible in coming years
Magnus Brunner, the European Commissioner for Home Affairs and Migration, said that visa-free travel between Armenia and the European Union could become a realistic possibility in the coming years if the country maintains the current pace of reforms.
According to Infoteka, Brunner noted that Armenia is gradually becoming an increasingly important partner for the European Union in the South Caucasus region.
“If the current pace of reforms is maintained, visa-free travel in the coming years is a very realistic prospect,” the commissioner said.
Brunner also stated that the EU is prepared to continue supporting the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to him, such support could include investments in the development of regional transport and communication links, in line with Armenia’s initiative known as the “Crossroads of Peace.”
