Europe to fine Apple due to monopoly on contactless payment technology

In Europe, they intend to fine Apple because of NFC technology, on the basis of which the Apple Pay service operates.

According to Ferra.ru , the company is accused of de facto monopolism on contactless payments, when it is enough to bring the iPhone to the terminal for payment. The EU authorities believe that since Apple does not disclose the technology to third-party developers, many financial organizations cannot implement it at home.

It is not yet known when exactly the EU will impose a fine on Apple, perhaps it will happen next week. The amount of the fine can be huge even by Apple standards - 10% of the corporation's revenue worldwide.
