European ambassadors meet Russian officials for Ukraine discussions
The ambassadors of France, the United Kingdom and Germany arrived at Russia's Foreign Ministry for a meeting with a deputy foreign minister, a TASS correspondent announced.
The talks come amid ongoing diplomatic discussions surrounding a potential settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
A day earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov confirmed that the three European envoys had requested a meeting with senior officials at the ministry and said Russian representatives were prepared to hear their views on the prospects for resolving the conflict.
"The ambassadors of these countries — Britain, France and Germany — have requested a meeting with my deputy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," Lavrov said.
"We will meet with them and listen. It is simply interesting to hear how these people will present anything that might lead to some constructive ideas," he added.
