Ex-chief summarizes Turkish defence industry's nine-year results VIDEO
Ismail Demir, who was appointed as deputy defence industry minister in April 2014, has summed up the results of nine years of the Turkish defence industry.
He made the results public in a farewell message he posted on the occasion of his resignation, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Twitter page of SavunmaSanayiST.com.

For more than nine years, the defence industry has experienced great progress and development. If you look at the indicators of the defence industry during Demir's leadership, the export of defence and aerospace products, which amounted to $1.5 billion in 2014, reached $4.4 billion in 2022.
The turnover of the defence and aerospace industries, which amounted to $5.1 billion in 2004, reached $12.2 billion by the end of 2022.
If 361 projects were implemented in 2014, then in 2023 their number will exceed 810.
Important achievements in the defence industry over the past nine years:
The first national KAAN fighter taxied to the runway in 2023.
The first national unmanned fighter Bayraktar KIZILELMA made its first flight in 2022.
HÜRJET, the first national jet aircraft, made its first flight in 2023.
The first national attack helicopter T129 ATAK entered service in 2014.
The first domestic helicopter T625 GÖKBEY made its first flight - 2018.
The first national reconnaissance ship TCG UFUK entered service in 2022.
The TCG Anadolu multi-purpose UDC is put into service - 2023.
The first national frigate ISTANBUL launched in 2021.
The first KORKUT national air defence system entered service in 2016.
The BAYRAKTAR TB2 UAV entered service in 2014.
Serial production of the first national assault rifle MPT-76 - 2016 has been started.
The first national anti-ship missile ATMACA entered service in 2021.

The ANKA-3 unmanned stealth bomber took off on the runway for the first time after taxiing.
