Ex-Tambov governor held over massive bribery allegations

Former Governor of Russia’s Tambov region, Maksim Yegorov, has been detained on suspicion of accepting a particularly large bribe, according to law enforcement sources.

A criminal case has been opened against Yegorov under the article relating to large-scale bribery, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

Searches are reportedly being carried out at several addresses linked to him in both Moscow and Tambov.

Investigators are currently conducting procedural actions with Yegorov himself. Further details have yet to be disclosed.
