Expert: France conducts intelligence in Armenia against Russia, Iran
Armenian military expert, Reserve Colonel Hayk Nagapetyan, has said France was active in Armenia for a long time, directly carries out intelligence work, and deploys equipment under the pretext of conducting various operations.
The expert made the remarks in an interview on the Armenian Second TV Channel YouTube channel, Caliber.Az reports.
"As for military procurement, this is only a signed memorandum of intent. And those three units of French military equipment that everyone knows are nothing for the joint implementation of the air defence department of Armenia and Russia, both in quantity and in resource. Then, it's just a memorandum of intent, they may or may not give them in 2050. It won't solve anything. The problem here is to create a counterweight to Russia, an imitation background,” he said.
Nagapetyan wondered how France ended up in Armenia: “It brings weapons, brings ammunition, does charity work, the Senate makes statements, etc. France's main goal is to organize and manage intelligence work through Armenia against Russia and Iran, which began with EU observers.
According to him, the special services of Russia and Iran are well aware of this.
“And I don't know how much the current Armenian authorities understand the new challenges, which allow France to enter Armenia by military means, whose task is not to increase Armenia's defence capability, but to take concrete measures against Russia and Iran," said Nagapetyan.
